Annie Mae Smith was born March 16, 1948, to the late Annie Bell and Harmon Smith, Jr. in Bishopville, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on April 10, 2024 at Carolina Pines Medical Center in Hartsville, South Carolina.
Annie received her education through the Lee County Public School System. She attended Dennis High School, where she graduated in 1966.
Upon graduating from high school, Annie relocated to Brooklyn, New York where she was employed by National Envelope East… She remained employed with the company for more than thirty-five years, until the company’s closing in 2008.
In 2011, Annie returned to Bishopville, South Carolina to care for her ailing brother up until his death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Annie Bell and Harmon Smith, Jr.; her granddaughter, Faith Phillips; two sisters, Beulah Hannah, and Lillie Bell Gregg; two brothers, Edward Thomas and Harmon Smith, III; her love, Charlie Keyes and one sister-in-law, Francis Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two children, Shanda Smith and Efrain Thomas; eight grandchildren, Lamont, Lakyia of Staten Island, New York, Zyaire of New Jersey, Arnavia, Kh’aliyah, Kharlie,Khyla and Malaysia of Brooklyn, New York; four great grandchildren, Cannon and Kimora of Staten Island, New York, Kaysen and Karsen of Bishopville, South Carolina; one brother, Leon Smith of Easley, South Carolina; two sisters, Mary Thomas of Brooklyn, New York, and Rosanna Smith of Far Rockaway, New York; two aunts, Dorothy Bowers of Charlotte, North Carolina and Julia Carter of Marietta, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Louise Thomas and a Special Niece; Quinnesha Gregg and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
