Minister Malichi Dargan, Jr. was born on January 15, 1939 in Darlington County, South Carolina, the son of the late Malichi Dargan, Sr. and Rosa Mae Dargan. He was called to his eternal home on March 7, 2024.
He was joined in Holy matrimony to Mrs. Rosa Hickmon Dargan and this union was blessed with six lovely children.
Minister Malichi Dargan, Jr. often called “Jr.” was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in his early life, where he was a deacon. He later became the president of New Bethel Male Chorus. Later, he joined the Outbreak Cathedral Ministries under the leadership of the late Michael Dargan and Shonette Dargan Richardson where he served faithfully as a minister for the Outreach Cathedral Ministry. He enjoyed teaching, preaching, singing and spreading the gospel of the Lord. He was a loving, caring and giving person who will be greatly missed.
Minister Maliachi Dargan, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Malachi Dargan, Sr. and Rosa Mae Dargan; two sons, Michael Dargan and Eric Johnson; three sisters, Jerline Brown, Mae Frances Williams and Virginia Gilmore.
He leaves to cherish his love and memories his loving wife, Minister Rosa Hickmon Dargan of the home; three sons, Edward Gibson of Lamar, South Carolina, David (Tori) Dargan of Hartsville, South Carolina, and Isaac Dargan of Lamar, South Carolina; three daughters, Louise Rivers of Sumter, South Carolina, Pastor Shonette (Marvin) Richardson of Florence, South Carolina and Crystal Johnson of Sumter, South Carolina; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; sister, Fannie Mae McCoy; a host of surviving brother and sister -in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, a special friend and caregiver, Voncelle Anderson of Lamar, South Carolina.
