Abraham Lincoln Middleton began his journey of life, July 16, 1944 in Eutawville, South Carolina.  Born into a family of twelve children, his late parents Cicero and Mary Middleton raised him to fear the Lord. On Friday, October 25, 2019, Abraham transitioned to be with the Lord at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, SC.   During his 75 years on earth, this husband, father, brother, and friend lived a happy and joyous life. He touched the lives of many people with his humor, compassion and love.

Abraham was a lifelong member of Greater St. Paul United Methodist Church where he served faithfully on the finance committee and trustee board.  He received his education in the Orangeburg County public school system and was a 1964 graduate of Roberts High School, Holly Hill, South Carolina. He was employed in various capacities throughout the county, …..and finally pursued his lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur. He was the owner and operator of Middleton Masonry and also the Triple L Lounge, (Link’s Place) Eutawville, SC.

Affectionately known as “Link”, Abraham never met a stranger! He was quick witted and never parted your presence without a good hearty laugh! He loved grilling and spent his pastime   mastering the craft!  Dubbed the “Grill Master” by his family and friends, he would oftentimes be seen driving between job sites with his unique customized gas grill hooked to his truck, cooking his signature meats that were based with his wife Janette’s secret barbeque sauce.  He was a main fixture at tailgating events and barbeques held throughout the county.  We will sorely miss “Link” and his tasty barbeque!

In addition to his parents, Abraham was preceded in death by seven siblings: Samuel, Rose, William, Emily, Eloise, Ruth and Robert.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife of 52 years, Janette Randolph Middleton of the home; one daughter Valarie (Octavius) Davies, Winston Salem, North Carolina; one son Maurice Middleton of the home; two grand-daughters, Hannah Davies, and Faith Davies, Winston Salem, North Carolina; four siblings, Julia Jackson and Wilhelmena Middleton, New York, Carol (Phillip) Briggman, Orangeburg, SC; Moses (Dollie) Middleton, Eutawville, SC; sister in-laws, Anna Middleton, Columbia, SC, Ethel B. Moseley, Orangeburg, SC; brother in-laws,  James Cobbs and Joerod Breland, Orangeburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
