Agnes Sarah Pinckney Jones was born on March 12, 1931 to the late Sharper Pinckney and Julia Grant Pinckney. She entered into eternal rest on June 16, 2019 at her home. Home-Going Celebration will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2019 at Macedonia United Methodist Church, 400 McDanieltown Road, Ridgeville, South Carolina; Reverend David Washington, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment, Macedonia Community Cemetery. A public viewing will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the S-M-T Chapel of Serenity from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Agnes was married James David Jones on March 29, 1949. To this union, four children were born. Agnes was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. She completed her education at Colleton County Adult Education in 1974. She was employed at Oakwood Health Care Center for 34 years until she retired in 2002.
She joined Macedonia United Methodist Church at an early age. She served faithfully as a member of the United Methodist Women, Senior Choir, and Older Adult Ministries until her health failed in 2015. She was also a member of the Pride of McDaniel Eastern Star # 334.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and knitting. She loved her Children, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sharper Pinckney and Julia Grant Pinckney; and a son, Alvin Don Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, James David (JD) Jones; one son, Jesse Jones of Cartersville, Georgia; two daughters, Brenda Lawson of Sumter, South Carolina, and Angela (Alonzo) Garrett of Cottageville, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Tamika, Soyini, AJ, Latoya, Juwon, Brian and Dexter; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, RaQuan, Aaron, and Jaxon and one great great-grandchild Isaiah; one daughter-in-law, Wendy Jones of Columbia, SC; one sister-in-law Apostle Joyce Gordon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, and friends.
