Charles Eric Miller

Charles Eric Miller, son of the late Isaiah Miller, Jr. and Minister Minnie I. Sanders-Miller was born on June 1, 1968, in Sumter, South Carolina. Eric was granted his wings on May 22, 2019, at his home in Sumter, South Carolina. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family.  Home-Going Celebration will be held Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethesda Church of God, 2730 Broad Street, Sumter, South Carolina.  Reverend H. Albert Sims, Jr. Pastor and Eulogist.  Interment, Mt. Sinai Holy Temple Cemetery, Borden, South Carolina.  Public Viewing will be Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at the Ephriam D. Stephens Funeral Home Chapel.   

“E” or Eric, as he was affectionately called, received his formal education in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1988. In his youth, Eric accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended Mt. Sinai Holiness Temple and sang on the Mt. Sinai Male chorus. He was also a member of Grace Cathedral Church and Ministries and was instrumental in the music department.  He later became a member of Bethesda Church of God, where he was the lead guitarist.

 He was employed for 15 years at Carolina Power Systems, and then Eaton Corporation until his health failed.

Eric was an avid music lover. He loved playing his guitar and listening to music. He played the guitar and sang with several gospel groups in the surrounding Sumter area; Terence Lonon Project, Shonda English & Great Jubilation, Bishop W.T. English BEEA Crusade Choir, Lois Abrams & The Abram Singers, Flossie & The Singing Sisters, Deacon Robert Burgess & The Mighty Soul Searchers and Lee Burgess and Resurrection.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Isaiah Miller, Jr.

Eric leaves to cherish and honor his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Robin Brunson-Miller of the home; six loving children, Charles Eric Miller, Jr. (Jasmine Symone) of Dalzell, SC., Danisha Davette Miller of Sumter, SC., Gabrielle Abston of Pasaquola, MS., Tamya Ashantai Davis, Quinci Derell Davis,and Jourden Isaiah Miller, all of the home;  three grandchildren, Aaliyah, Carlson, and Charisma Miller; a  sister, Pamela E. Miller and a  brother, Adrian( Tonya)  Miller both of  Rembert SC.;  mother-in-law, Thelma Brunson of Sumter SC.; father-in-law, Larry (Helen)Brunson, Jr. of Dalzell SC.; two sisters-in-law, Constance Greene of Sumter SC. and Charity (Derek) Webb of Temecula, CA.; a brother-in-law, Larry ( Katerra) Brunson, III of Sumter SC.; a nephew that grew up with him as a brother, Alvaughn Miller of Charleston, SC.; a special cousin, Sheldon(Fredericka) Wilson of Sumter, SC.; a devoted friend, Trevor (Cicely) Brown of Sumter SC. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
