Ed Benjamin Jenkins, 61, entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 29, 2019, at the home of his brother- in- law and sister, Elder Clarence and Alethia Mae McCall of 6550 Dinkins Mill Road. Born in Sumter County, April 26, 1958, he was the son of the late Solmon Jenkins and late Rosa Lee Jenkins. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6, 2019, at 1:00 P.M., in the Robert Scriven, Jr. Memorial Chapel of the Ephriam D. Stephens Funeral Home with Elder Jason McCall officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery 5077 Peach Orchard Road.
Ed enjoyed music, laughter and especially spending time with family. He was a lover of basketball, even though he did not play the game. Ed was a member of Restoration Ministry. He enjoyed being in worship with the other congregants in the ministry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Ray Grant, Ned Thomas Jenkins, Theodore Solomon Jenkins and Booker T. Jenkins.
He leaves fond memories of his life to be cherished by his siblings: Alethia Mae (Elder Clarence) McCall of Sumter, South Carolina, Sharon V. Smith of New Milford, Connecticut and Willie Boy Jenkins of New Jersey a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
