Shelia Diane Simmons was born on April 15, 1960 to the late Isaiah and Bernice Simmons. She went home to be with her heavenly father on December 6, 2019 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina. Home-Going Celebration will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Bethel United Methodist Church, Smoaks, South Carolina at 11:00 a.m., Reverend Jimmy Washington, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment, John Brown Cemetery, Smoaks, South Carolina. A public viewing will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at Stephens-Maree-Tracy Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity from 12:00 noon - 7:00 p.m.
She joined the Holiness House of Refuge where the Evangelist Eliza Green was the pastor. She later joined Bethel United Methodist Church under Pastor, Reverend Jimmy Washington. She continued her membership there until she was called home.
She was educated in the public schools of Colleton County School District. She was a loving and kind mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend. She was a free spirit. She loved to dance and enjoyed the company of others. Anyone that really knew her, loved her. She will be surely missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Isaiah and Bernice Simmons, and her grandson, Brian Jenkins, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, one son, Willie (Kendra); three daughters, Tiffany (fiancé-Brian), Solita and Takemma all of Smoaks, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Brianna, Tremaine, Serenity, Jaelyn, Se'Niyaih, Kenyon, Demond and Chenaanah; eight sisters, Patricia Stephens, Linda Hiers (Isaac) Gwendolyn Simmons, Darlene Simmons, Idella Simmons, Louvenia Simmons of Branchville, South Carolina, Tracey Simpson (Matthew) of Walterboro, South Carolina and Juanita Gatling of Queens, New York; two brothers, Reginald Gatling (Minnie), Thomas Simmons (Yvonne) and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
