Akinyele Rhakem Johnson, affectionately known as “Booda” was born on August 20, 2000, to Janice Denise Lowery of Bishopville, SC and Reginald Johnson of Summerton, SC. He was called to his heavenly home on November 6, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, SC.
Akinyele received his education in the Lee County School District and proudly graduated from Lee Central High School in 2018. He was baptized at New Bethel AME Church on December 20, 2008, where he developed a strong and abiding faith in God. He later became Assistant to the Pastor under Rev. Jerome McCray. Akinyele was active in many church programs and outreach activities in his younger years.
Akinyele was known for his big heart, deep dimples, and loyal spirit. Among his greatest joys in life was being a father to his precious son, Ozieion Rhakem Johnson, whom he loved deeply and spoke of often with pride and affection. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and his love for Ozieion will live on through the memories they created together.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his loving parents, Janice Denise Lowery and Reginald Johnson; his beloved son, Ozieion Rhakem Johnson; 3 Brothers, Trevion and Jamarion of the home; Jaden Jackson of Columbia; 2 Sisters, Chantel (Deshaun) Pearson of Manning, SC; Moesha Johnson of Greenville, SC. Maternal Grandmother of the home, Earnestine Lowery; Paternal Grandmother Ella (Larry) Jones of Miami, FL. 1 Niece and 1 Nephew; A host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, and Extended Family, of Devoted Homeboys all who were blessed to share in his life.
Though his time on earth was short, He was proceeded in death by his brother Divante Dayshawn Lowery and his Maternal Grandfather, William Davis and his Paternal Grandfather, Pete Johnson.
