Barbara Ann Mitchell Butler was born on March 15, 1939 in Walterboro, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Daniel B. Mitchell and Priscilla Mitchell Abel. On Tuesday, February 8, 2022 our Almighty Father reached down and took the hand of Barbara Ann Mitchell Butler to take her home.
She was married to the late Randolph E. Butler, II of which two children were born, Randetta Butler Grant and Randolph E. Butler, III.
Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She began her education at Colleton Training School, and graduated top of her class from Colleton High School in Walterboro, South Carolina. She went on to attend Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina where she received her undergraduate degree. She later received her Master's Degree from Southern Illinois University. Barbara also enjoyed decorating and decided to pursue a certificate in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Peoria Rochelle Mitchell and Gwendolyn P. Mitchell and a brother, Daniel B. Mitchell.
Barbara is survived by her children, Randetta B. Grant (Bernard) of Lexington, South Carolina, and Randolph E. Butler, III of Marietta, Georgia; two grand children, Jacques A. Gilliam, II (Stacey) of Columbia, South Carolina and Ian B. Gilliam of Lexington, South Carolina; a sister, Stephanie Vanessa Mitchell of Walterboro, South Carolina; Brothers, Pastor Dennis N. Mitchell of Winter Springs, Florida and James A. Greene (Pam) of Brazelton, Georgia; a devoted uncle, Willie Fullard of East Meadow, New York; grand nieces, grand nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
