Barbara Jones-Strader Obituary

Barbara Ann Jones Strader, daughter of the late, Clemson Jones and Christine Sharpe, was born on April 25, 1966 in Walterboro, South Carolina. She answered the masters call and departed this life early Wednesday morning June 24, 2020 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Graveside Service will be held Saturday, July 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Stephens Cemetery, Ruffin, South Carolina.  Pastor Dr. Ron O. Youmans, Eulogist.  A public viewing will be held Friday, July 3, 2020 at Stephens-Maree-Tracy Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (MASKS ARE REQUIRED AND THERE WILL SOCIAL DISTANCING) 

At an early age, she attended Deep Creek Baptist Church, Islandton, South Carolina where she served faithfully on the usher board.

She was a graduate of Ruffin High School and later worked for Colleton County School District as a devoted Bus Driver and a Substitute Teacher for many years. Barbara's love for children didn't stop there though, she continued working with children throughout the years as a Child Care worker until she could no longer work.

Barbara was united in holy matrimony on September 7, 2018 to Mr. Darick Strader.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clemson Jones and mother, Christine Sharpe.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her devoted husband, Darick Strader; three children, David Pollard, Jr. (Tamika), Tiffany Dantzler (Fred) and Toni Jones,  all of Walterboro, South Carolina; five extended sons, Derrick Grant, William Grant, Delmonte Grant, Ron Grant, and Clyde Grant (Jameisha) all of Charleston, South Carolina; a host of grandchildren; step-father, Peter Sharpe of Ruffin, South Carolina; one sister, Teressa Vaught; three brothers, Brian Sharpe of Branchville, South Carolina, Anthony Williams (Makecia) of Walterboro, South Carolina and Ron Youmans (Devona) of Hampton, South Carolina;  brothers and sisters-in-law, William Strader,  Karilee Grant, Allison Strader, Des Smalls, Shawn Smalls all of Charleston, South Carolina and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
