Bennie Drain-Green Obituary

Bennie Lou Drain-Green,84, was born on October 11, 1935 in Colleton County to the late Lula and Joe Drain. She entered into eternal rest on the evening of Sunday, July 19, 2020, at her home in Smoaks, South Carolina.

Graveside Service Honoring and Celebrating the Life of Bennie Lou Drain-Green will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Green's Cemetery, Smoaks, South Carolina at 11:00 a.m..  Reverend Samuel Haney, Eulogist.  A public viewing will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at Stephens-Maree-Tracy Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 

She was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. She was married to the late Louis Green.

Bennie was a member of Greater Mt. Olive A.M.E.  Church, where she served as a steward, choir member, and other auxiliaries. Her hobbies were shopping, dressing, preparing family meals, watching soap operas and basketball.  She was employed by Carolina Visuals.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Green; her parents, Lula and Joe Drain; three sisters, Queenie Stokes, Jessie Cochran, and Mary Lou Stokes; and one brother, Joseph Drain, Sr.

She leaves her love and fond memories to her children, Louella (Willie) Linder of Harrisburg, PA, Janice (Mayfield) Brown of Smoaks, South Carolina, Joe (Wilhelmenia) Green of Smoaks, South Carolina, Jimmy Green of Hardeeville, South Carolina, Brenda (James) Jordan of Smoaks, South Carolina, Terry (Aresia) Green of Smoaks, South Carolina, Sylvester (Darlene) Green of Smoaks, South Carolina; Stepchild, Timothy (Teresa) Butler of Tacoma, Washington; thirty-two grandchildren; two of which was raised in the home, Christopher Linder and Shakeria Green; numerous great-grandchildren; one God son, Jabar Drain; three sisters-in-law, Carrie (Thomas) Behling, Gloria Drain and Rena Williams; two brothers-in-law, James Green and Booker T. Green; daughter-in-law, Rosetta Green; one aunt, Frances Jenkins of Smoaks, South Carolina; a special great niece, Nicole Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
