Bertha Lee Bowens

Bertha Lee Bowens, daughter of the late Elijah Bryant, Sr. and Daisy Bell Bryant was born on January 12, 1963, in Walterboro, South Carolina. She Departed this life on July 22, 2025 in Smoaks, South Carolina.

At an early age, she joined Beulah Baptist Church in Smoaks, South Carolina, where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.

She attended the public schools of Colleton County. In 2020, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Vernon Bowens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Bryant, Sr. and Daisy Bell Bryant.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Vernon Bowens of Ravenel, South Carolina; her son, Travis Bryant of Smoaks, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Shamiricle Murray of Smoaks, South Carolina and Tyreek Bryant of Walterboro, South Carolina; four sisters, Ms. Frankie Pinckney of Smoaks, South, Carolina, Ms. Rebecca J. (Herbert) Milton of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Ms. Shameka Wiggins of Jacksonville, Florida and Ms. Sierra Wiggins of Florence, South Carolina; three brothers, Mr. James E. (Shirley) Bryant of Hampton, South Carolina, Mr. Johnny Bryant of Walterboro, South Carolina and Mr. Elijah Bryant, Jr. of Smoaks, South Carolina; her father-in-law, Willie Bowens of Hollywood, South Carolina; four brothers-in-law, Jamie (Sonora) Drayton, Willie (Margaret) Drayton, Shawn (Jerry) Holmes, and Jerry Bowens; six sisters-in-law, Sharon (Isaiah) Trusdale, Shirley Johnson, Danielle Holmes, Ira Roach, Debra Hilton and Kathy Dicks; two special God daughters, Neshell Renee Anderson and Teresa Childs; two very special friends Lois Stephens and Gloria Hilliard and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and all who loved her dearly.
