Calvin Addison, 36, of 203 Pinckney Street, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 16, 2020, at his residence. Born in Sumter County, June 27, 1983, he was the son of the late John Olden and Lucille Washington Addison. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Bradford Cemetery 2600 Tally Lane, Sumter, South Carolina at 1:30 p.m. Minister Richard Boone, Eulogist. A Public viewing will be held Friday, May, 22, 2020 at Ephriam D. Stephens Funeral Home Chapel from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
In his youth, Calvin accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended Pinehill A.M. E. Church. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. As an adult, he became a member of the National Federation of the Blind, and enjoyed the meetings he attended as well as the people that were affiliated with the organization.
Calvin had a love for music. He would sit and listen to music for hours. He was a very hilarious individual. He loved being around those that made him see life with laughter. His comical spirit made him amusing and loving. He will be missed by many that loved being in his presence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Olden and Lucille Washington Addison; grandparents, Booker T. and Mary P. Washington; an uncle, Walker Washington and an aunt, Martha Richardson.
Calvin leaves to cherish his memory, a sister, Faith Addison of Sumter; four brothers, his twin brother, Kelvin Addison, Brian Addison, Anthony Washington all of Sumter and Ernest Addison of Baltimore, Maryland; five aunts, six uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
