Carl Rivers, Sr., son of the late Oliver and Dorothy Rivers, was born on February 8, 1949 in Colleton County. He departed his earthly life on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, South Carolina.
Carl was raised in the Ruffin Community. He was educated in the Colleton County Public School System and graduated from Ruffin High School with the Class of 1969. In his early years, he joined the Beulah Baptist Church where he was a faithful and dedicated member until his health began to fail.
He was employed at J.P. Stevens for over thirty-five years. His mechanical expertise was unmatched! Carl was a loving, sweet, and humble person who will be missed tremendously.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Dorothy Rivers; and a brother, Freddie Rivers.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 49 years, Woodette Rivers of the home; his children, Carlene Rivers of Savannah Georgia, Carl A. Rivers, Jr. of Walterboro, South Carolina; his precious grandchildren , Jamonte (Zerphlee)Green of Boamholder, Germany, Na-Leshia Green of Savannah, Georgia, Kenyaidrei Crawford of Walterboro, South Carolina, Anthony Rivers and Tasca Rivers of Walterboro, South Carolina, and Treshawn Goff of Alabama; four great-grandchildren, Jaden, Janiyah, Jakylah and Kashton; his aunts, Vera Grant, Marie Bell and Carolyn Myers all of Walterboro, South Carolina; a very special uncle, Sam Reddish and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
