Carrie Ann Slater Davis was born January 28,1951, in Sumter County to the late James and Sarah Washington. She was raised by her loving aunt Lovenia Bradley, after the death of her mother, whose guidance and affection shaped the compassionate woman that she became. Carrie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered eternal rest on November 18, 2025, at her home.
Cookie as she was affectionately known, had a gift of art, home decorating, the best cook, loving mother and wife.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, James and Sarah Washington; three brothers, Joe Lewis, Dock, and Oneil.
Carrie is survived by her husband, Anthony Davis; son, Kevin N. Slater of Fayetteville, North Carolina; brother, Ivory J. Slaterof Sumter, South Carolina; granddaughter, Kelsey Slater and one great grand, Ava Slater and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Carrie, gentle spirit, loving nature and quiet strength will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
