Clarence Brunson, Sr. was born September 11, 1938 in Islandton, South Carolina to the late George Brunson, Sr. and Sula Mays Brunson. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Pruitt Health Nursing Rehab Center in Walterboro, South Carolina. Home-Going Service will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 12816 Sniders Highway, Islandton, South Carolina, Reverend Tyrone Beckett, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Islandton, SC. A public viewing will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at S-M-T Chapel of Serenity.
Clarence was first married to the late Retha Lee Brunson and to this union five children were born. He later married Estelle Brunson of Colleton County.
Clarence attended the public schools of Colleton County in Ruffin, South Carolina. He was employed with the Colleton County School District as a Custodian at Bells Elementary School where here retired. He was a faithful member of Deep Creek Baptist Church where he served for many, many years. He always had a pleasant smile and a warm heart and was dearly loved by everyone that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Retha Lee Brunson; parents, George and Sula Brunson; a brother, Robert Lee Brunson; a sister, Margaret Brunson Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Estelle; his children, Clarence Brunson, Jr.(Elizabeth) of Walterboro, SC, Nancy Brunson of Charleston, SC, Laverne Brunson, Viola Brunson Holman, and Johnny L. Brunson (Jenee), all of Delaware, and Lois Harris of Walterboro, SC; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; a brother, George Brunson, Jr. Walterboro, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
