Courtney Monique Jenkins was born December 30, 1985, in Colleton County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Jerome and late Barbara Davis Jenkins. Due to her decline in health, she was a resident of Johns Island Post—Acute Care, Johns Island, South Carolina. She transitioned from this life on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the Medical University Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina.
Courtney was a 2005 graduate of Colleton County High School, Walterboro, South Carolina. She did further studies at The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie, Walterboro, South Carolina. She was a member of Lovely Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Smoaks, South Carolina. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Courtney was employed as a customer service representative at IQOR, Charleston, South Carolina and with Direct TV. She also worked a period at Bobops.
Courtney was a very loving, caring, and outgoing person who adored her children. Even during her illness, she was always concerned about the well-being of her children and Vernon. She enjoyed dining out, traveling, nurturing her children, giving orders, and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Corey Jenkins; maternal grandparents, Retha Bell and James Davis; paternal grandparents, Russell and Clara M. Jenkins; uncle, Jimmie L. Davis.
Courtney leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children, Mr. Corey Bowman, Ms. Rhianna Bowman, Mr. Ayden Bowman, Summerville, South Carolina; father of her children and high school sweetheart, Mr. Vernon Bowman; siblings, Mr. Rashaie (Sharonda) Jenkins, Mr. Rushaie (Princess) Jenkins, Smoaks, South Carolina, Mr. Joseph Gatling, Brooklyn, New York; uncles and aunts, Mr. James (Aretha) Davis, Mr. Vernon (Robyn) Davis, Mr. Lance Davis, Ms. Brenda Davis, Minister Russell Jenkins, Mr. Sammie Jenkins, Mr. Bernard (Angela) Walker; cousins reared in their home, Mr. Donnell Stephens, Mr. Parko Stephens; numerous great aunts and great uncles, Ms. Gloria Bowman, her loving, caring mama, and devoted caregiver; special sisters, Ms. Tanya Adams, Ms. Michelle Shider and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
