David Jefferson Obituary

David L. Jefferson affectionately known as “Bookie” “Dave” and “Little Lyle” was born in Lynchburg, VA on December 08, 1965 to Lyle and Shirley Mosley. He entered into eternal rest on November 5, 2024.

He graduated from Carl B Hutchinson Elementary School, and Dunbar Middle school and achieved his G.E.D at E.C. Glass High School.  Later he attended Dekalb Technical College in Decatur, GA  to achieve his Associate Degree as a Paralegal. Mr. Jefferson served our country in THE UNITED STATES ARMY as a vehicle repairer while stationed in Germany. During his time in Germany, he was honored with Medals and Badges.

He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia with his now deceased brother Calvin Jefferson. In the year of 2000, He met his loving and devoted wife,  Vondele (Vee, Vonzi, Vdell) . They were joined in holy matrimony for 18 years. 

David worked in several different occupations in Georgia (Armed Security Officer, Unarmed Security Guard, Property Manager, Transportation Driver, Truck Driver (18-wheeler) before moving to John's Island, SC with his wife. In the process of making John's Island his new home, he became a part of the Kiawiah Island Resort family working with his mother -in -law Flossie Brown (Retired) whom he also resided with until moving himself and his wife into their own place in West Ashley, SC. He then became a part of the VA team working as a delivery driver until he became disabled.

David was a very kind, generous and patient man. He was a prime example of a true leader and was loved, adored and respected by many.  He was comical and the life of anyone's party. He was a big kid at heart and truly adored his HESS trucks and airplane display and will truly be missed.  He enjoyed cooking, social gatherings, reading (especially Archie Comic Books),  watching tv especially ANDY GRIFFITH, RIFELMAN, THREE'S COMPANY, FACTS OF LIFE, THE JEFFERSON'S,  IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, ALL IN THE FAMILIY, SANDFORD AND SON, BRADY BUNCH, COPS & AMERICA'S MOST WANTED, JUDGE JUDY AND JOEL OLSTEIN.  

He is survived by his wife, Vondele Jefferson; two daughters Christine Jefferson (C.J.), Adrianna Jefferson (A.J.); one son David Alvin Jefferson (Junior), and three grandsons; his First extended family in which he truly adored, Catherine (Cat) Favors, Eugenia (Gina) Favors, Charles favors, Raven Favors, Rashad Favors and a host of grandchildren; his special friends (Kernitas "Tina"  Meyers, Anna Marie Gurule, Phyllis Ladson, Johnathan Randolf; Thomas McCray; his 2nd extended family that he absolutely LOVED,  Flossie Brown (mother -in -law); Brother and Sister -in- law, Joseph and Jaqueline Maxwell (Juney, Boing, & Jackie), Brother and sister- in -law, Emery and Sandra Maxwell (Elroy); Brother and Sister- in- law, Isaac and Tiffany Maxwell (keykey); Sister and Brother- in- law, (Melvin and Pearl Freeman) ; Sister and Brother- in- law, Johnnie and Darlene Grant (Dee) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

David's Virginia Family, Sister, Stella ( Tosey)Sparrow; Brothers, Clarence, William Mosley (Bay William, Uncle Bill), David Mosley, Lorenzo Mosley (Uncle Chief), Leon Calloway, James “Jimmy” Jefferson, Samuel “Sam” Jefferson;  Nieces, Katicia Mosley (Tish), Carlena, Bre, Breezy), Kanesha, Evont’a and a host of other nieces and nephews and cousins
