David Roy "Judge" Memminger was born on January 24, 1949, to the late Ruby Webb Memminger in Colleton County. On Friday, June 17, 2022, God called David from his earthly home to his heavenly reward.
At an early age, he joined St. Paul CME Church. He was a faithful member until his death. He served as a faithful Usher Board Member and he used his training to assist in building the church Fellowship hall.
David attended the public schools of Colleton County. He was employed as a Brick Layer with Eppling Construction Company of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Before his health started to decline, David was employed as a Brick Layer with Ricky Brown Masonry of Walterboro, South Carolina. He was a member of the Ritter Baseball Team as an outfielder.
He was an avid Lowcountry fisherman. He loved fishing, going to McDonalds and loved to keep you laughing and having fun.
David was joined in Holy Matrimony on December 16, 1973 to the love of his life, Carrie Calloway Memminger. To this union three children were born. He visited his wife at Pruitt Health Care Center everyday to feed and assisted with her care.
He was preceded in death by his mother and siblings, Mary Williams, Marie Calloway, Eunice Ford, Buster Webb, John Memminger, Jimmie Memminger and Willie Memminger.
David leaves to cherish with fond memories, his wife, Carrie Calloway Memminger; three daughters, Elaine Calloway, of Walterboro, South Carolina, Latoshia M. Greene of Walterboro, South Carolina and Tiffany (Howard) Davis of Islandton, South Carolina; five grandchildren, David M. Greene, Javon G. Washington, Jasmine M. Davis, Jada L. Davis, Abraham D. Greene, one great granddaughter, Royalty B. Aiken, five sisters-in-law, Ida Lee Williams, Martha Smith, Sadie Memminger, Gertie Ford, and Marry Memminger; special friend, Mr. Ernest Simpson and loving, caring nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins, friends and former co-workers.
