Deacon Willie McMillan Obituary

Deacon Willie Ray McMillan was born in Smoaks, South Carolina on January 17, 1934 to Quillie Ray McMillan and Lila Pitts McMillan. He entered into eternal rest on April 22, 2024 at Trident Medical Center, in North Charleston, South Carolina. 

He moved to Holly Hill, South Carolina at an early age where he attended Nazarene # 4 Church of God in Christ where his father was the pastor.

On June 1, 1957 he was joined in holy matrimony to Minnie Mae Siders and to this union five children were born. In 1963, they relocated to Paterson, New Jersey and in 1972 they moved to Boston, Massachusetts. While in Boston, he received his degree in Refrigeration Engineering.

Willie also known as “Bill” was an avid fisherman. He also loved to fix old cars. He returned to South Carolina in 1983.

Later in Life he was baptized, received the holy ghost and joined Greater Good Will Church under the tutelage of Elder Sherman Gethers. 

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Quillie Ray McMillan and Lila Pitts McMillan; his wife, Minnie M. McMillan; sons, Clyde S. McMillan and Melvin A. McMillan; brothers, Ozie (Dorothy) Mcmillan, Francis (Pearl) McMillan, Quillie McMillan, Jr., John (Anna Belle) McMillan, Rufus (Virginia) McMillan and David (Wanda) McMillan; sisters, Carrie Bell McFadden (Randolph), Mary Lee Myers; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James (Beverly) Mitchell, Bertha Tucker, Robert Siders, Rufus Siders, Johnny Siders and Mack Ross; God-daughter, Beverly Dukes.

He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Patricia Y.M. Fuller of Paterson, New Jersey; sons, Johnnie D. Mcmillan and Michael A. “Mickey” McMillan of Walterboro, South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Helene W. McMillan of Walterboro, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jermaine M. McMillan of Paterson, New Jersey, Porscha T. McMillan and Aaron Lawton of Walterboro, South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Kysir Byrams and Kaori Byrams of Walterboro, South Carolina; two God-children, Terri S. Siders of Charleston, South Carolina and Greta U.Gethers of Walterboro, South Carolina; special niece and nephew, Julie (Jimmy) Singleton of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Kenyatta (Sonya) Spruill of Charleston, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Deloris Ross, Rebecca Jackson, Annie Mae Siders, Janet Siders of New Jersey, Theresa Spruill of Walterboro, South Carolina, Willie Mae McMillan of New York and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
