Elder Barbara Ann Pinckney Davis, daughter of the late Gus Pinckney, Jr. (Brenda) and the late Mattie Stephens Lee (Raymond) was born on September 22, 1951, in Ruffin, South Carolina. Combined, there were sixteen children and she was the oldest of fifteen. She had one older sister, Priscilla, and two younger sisters, Theola, and Regina who all preceded her in death.

Elder Barbara attended the public school system of Colleton County. Afterwards, she continued her education in New York City. The love she had for her family ran deep no matter where she was. She remained close to them but eventually she would move back to South Carolina where both of her grandmothers lived.

Elder Barbara attended both of her parents’ family churches, Buckhead United Methodist Church in Ruffin South Carolina and Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Walterboro, South Carolina, well into adulthood. She gave her life to the lord in the late 70’s. She served faithfully as a dedicated vessel and God Elevated her to a Missionary and then Evangelist. In 2017, She was Ordained Elder at Zion Pentecostal Rescue House of Prayer for All Nations Inc. in Ehrhardt, South Carolina by Overseer, Bishop T. L. Anderson.

She was United in Holy Matrimony to the Late Bishop Wallace Davis, Jr.  on June 29, 1978. The Lord blessed this union with five children.

Elder Barbara was call from duty by God on January 29, 2024 at Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford, Florida. She fulfilled her assignment here on earth, she fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith and received her crown of righteousness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, and her beloved Bishop Wallace Davis, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her five children; one son, James Pinckney (Anissa) of Michigan, four daughters: Tabitha Mcharris (Kevin) of Queens, New York, MimMat Melissa Goodwine (LaNard) of Raleigh, North Carolina; JoAnne Williams (Kenya) of Lake Mary, Florida and Leslie Davis of Bamberg, South Carolina; three brothers, Gus Pinckney, Jr. of Brooklyn, New York, Ronnie Pinckney (Cassandra) of the Poconos, Pennsylvania, Robert Lee (Glenda) of Long Island, New York; ten sisters, Brenda Lee of Long Island, New York, Denise Davis of Bamberg, South Carolina, Janice Lee (Donald) of North Carolina, Kim Clark (Jimmy) of Brooklyn, New York, Rayetta Lee of Brooklyn, New York, Sharon Lee of Long Island, New York, Shelia Brown (Tracy) of DC, Glenda Pinckney of Atlanta, Georgia, Monica Pinckney of Atlanta, Georgia, Alicia Pinckney of Mt. Vernon, New York; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a special list of God children, William of the home, Amanda, Jeremiah, Tara, Tonya, Tywander, Savion, Andrew, Jackie, Susan, Emma and Cherisse (Eve); her loving aunts, who were like Mothers to her, Gloria Brown, Carmel-Ray Pinckney, Janey Riley, Eileen Pinckney, Susan Stephens-Alls, and Henrietta Pinckney; Her Endearing sisters-in-law, Evangelist Shirley Davis (Jerbie), Wendell Gary and Deborah Murdaugh and a host of nieces , nephews, other relatives and friends. She was truly a Bright light to all who knew and loved her.
