Eleanor Davis, fondly known as “Tonsy,” was born on January 19, 1971. She was the eldest child of Herman and Marguerite Davis and the stepdaughter of Richie N. Johnson from Ruffin, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2024, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Tonsy was educated in Colleton County Public Schools and furthered her skills at the Colleton County Vocational Rehabilitation Center after high school.
A devoted member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Walterboro, SC, Eleanor worked with the Colleton and Charleston County Boards of Disabilities and Special Needs. A passionate baseball enthusiast, she played with the Charleston County Miracle League and formed lasting bonds through the Charleston County Board of Disabilities.
She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Marguerite Johnson of Walterboro, South Carolina, and stepfather, Richie N. Johnson, of Ruffin, South Carolina; three brothers, Jay Davis of Summerville, South Carolina, Bryan Davis (Skye) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Richie Marcus Johnson (Natalie) of Atlanta, Georgia; and a sister, Ivey Kaye Johnson of Ladson, South Carolina. She leaves behind five aunts: Shirley of Wadmalaw, South Carolina, Marilyn, Patricia (Ernest), Mary, and Janice, all of Walterboro, South Carolina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
