Elease Jenkins Williamson was born on February 22, 1945. She was the second oldest daughter of Vernon and Griselda Jenkins. Elease quietly entered eternal rest on October 26, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Elease grew up and lived in New York for many years. Early in life she worked as a CAN at the Department of Health in NYC. She met and later married Robert Lee Williamson, who preceded her in death.
Elease always had a mothering spirit. Having no children of her own, she opened her heart to all who entered her life. She was a loving step mother, Godmother, grandmother and mother figure to so many. After moving to Smoaks, South Carolina she became a member of Lovely Hill Baptist Church, where she worked with the youth and missionary department. She also worked as a caregiver for the sick in Colleton County. Elease also volunteered with Bells Elementary PTO, Girl Scouts and the Democratic Party.
In 2017, after 27 years in South Carolina, Elease moved to her dream home in Savannah Georgia. There she continued her Christian fellowship at First Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church until she became ill.
Elease was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Williamson, her parents, Vernon and Griselda Jenkins, and her nephew Rasheen Bryant.
A lifetime of memories will forever be held by her stepson, Bryant (Dominique) Williamson of South Carolina; her stepdaughter, Dawn (Michael) Lingard of Florida; two Godsons, Vernon (Brooke) Small of Florida and Earnest Ingram, III of Virginia; two bonus daughters, Tamesha Jenkins of Georgia and Cathy Jakes of South Carolina; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters, Patricia Jenkins-Spady, Vernell Jenkins-Small, Karen (Evans) Boyd, all of Georgia, Olga (Harold) Bryant, Odda L. Jenkins, all of South Carolina, Shelia (Perry) Williams of North Carolina; one aunt, Rebecca (Douglas) Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
