Emma Lee Brown was born on November 4, 1961 to the late Eleba Brown, Jr. and Orrie Bell Sanders Brown. She entered into eternal rest on June 12, 2021 at the Colleton Medical Center, in Walterboro, South Carolina.
Emma attended the Public Schools of Colleton County. She completed her high school education, at Ruffin High School in Ruffin, South Carolina.
She joined Bethel United Methodist Church in Smoaks, South Carolina at an early age. She served faithfully until her health declined. She was a member of the Choir and Usher Board.
Emma was employed at SS Manufactory and also worked at the Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro, South Carolina as a Laundry Attendant.
After suffering a stroke, she resided at St. George Nursing Facility for seven years. She was transported to the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina where she took her last breath.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleba Brown, Jr. and Orrie Bell Sanders Brown; her two children, James N. Brown of Columbia, South Carolina, and Leola S. Brown of Orangeburg, South Carolina; grandmother, Daisy Sanders of Fayetteville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson; siblings, Donald Brown and Rosa Brown both of Walterboro, South Carolina; three aunts, Theresa Scott and Jacqueline Williams both of Brooklyn, New York, and Louise Stephens of Smoaks, South Carolina; three uncles, Author Scott of Brooklyn, New York, Monroe Brown and Jimmy Stephens both of Smoaks, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Windsetter Edwards and Doris Simmons of Smoaks, South Carolina; three half-sisters; one half-brother all of Walterboro, South Carolina; two God-daughters, Williette and Christina Jones both of Smoaks, South Carolina; two special cousins, Evyonne Helton and Scott Helton; three special friends, Joyce Brown, Brenda McMillan and Cynthia Stokes; thirty-five nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
