Erica Monique White Smith, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Beaufort, South Carolina. Erica'’s journey began in the same beautiful town of Beaufort, South Carolina, where she was born and where she drew her last breath.
Born to Bishop Willie White Jr. and Mrs. Shirley White, Erica was the embodiment of grace and love. Her upbringing was filled with the guiding light of faith, imparted to her by her parents, who nurtured her with unwavering support and boundless love. Erica carried these values with her throughout her life, touching the hearts of many. She received her primary education in Colleton County. She was an honor graduate of Praise Assembly Academy, Beaufort. Erica moved to Winter Garden Florida and worked at Connextions Health, She started as a non-licensed agent where her customer service and communication skills were top tier, and she was always recognized for being a team player and displaying much knowledge in the field. She went on to earn her 2-15 license within the company which allowed her to sell life, health and annuities insurance across the US.
After moving back to South Carolina, She worked as a substitute teacher for Beaufort County School district. Following in her sister’s footsteps she attended the Technical College of the Lowcountry and was a 2012 graduate of the Practical Nursing Program. Following graduation, She worked at Veterans Victory House as a Staff Development Nurse for many years. Erica shared a special bond with her siblings. Though she is preceded in death by her dear brother Steven Craig White.
she leaves behind cherished memories with her sister Detra Summers. Their bond was a testament to the strength of family ties, forged through years of shared laughter, tears, and countless moments of joy.
Erica was a member of New Beginnings Word Ministry in Walterboro, South Carolina, where she served as the worship leader and in any capacity needed. Her mission was to love and serve God’s people.
Erica found the love of her life in Romaine Smith, and their union was a testament to enduring love and commitment. Their journey together began with their marriage in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, a place that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Their love story was one of mutual respect, unwavering support, and an unbreakable bond that served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Together, Erica and Romaine welcomed their son, Ryan Steven Smith, into the world. Ryan became the center of Erica'’s universe, and her love for him knew no bounds. She was a devoted mother who instilled in Ryan the same values of love, faith, and kindness that she held dear. Her legacy will live on through him, a testament to the incredible woman she was.
Erica enjoyed spending time with her niece Brooke Summers, a bond that was very special to both of them. They are the founders of Auntie E & Me, a juice business that they enjoyed working together.
Throughout her life, Erica'’s faith was a cornerstone. She lived her life with a deep sense of purpose and unwavering commitment to her beliefs. Her gentle spirit, radiant smile, and compassionate nature touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
Erica Monique White Smith passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She is survived by her loving husband, Romaine Smith; her cherished son, Ryan Steven Smith; her devoted parents, Bishop Willie White Jr. and Shirley White; and her beloved sister, Detra Summers (Kevin Summers), aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A very special friend Ashawnte Jennings.
