Ferris Times Obituary

Ferris Times was born on May 26, 1967 to the late John Times and Eliza Times in Sumter, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on June 16, 2026.

Ferris attended the Public Schools of Sumter County. He was a 1985 Graduate from Job Corps N.E. Atlanta, Georgia. He was employed for numerous years at the following: V.B. Williams, Gold Kist, of Sumter, South Carolina and Chaney Brothers of Punta Gorda, Florida. 

He really loved sports, especially playing baseball, and softball with friends. He loved watching football and the Pittsburg Steelers was his favorite team.

Ferris was joined in Holy Matrimony on May 25,1997 to Latoya Smith Times. This union included six children.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Times; two nephews, Carlos Lincoln and Dominique Wimberly; one niece, Keyumma Lincoln and one sister-in-law, Gloria Wimberly.

Ferris leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Latoya Smith Times; his children, Farris T. Smith of Florence, South Carolina, Montel R. (Sylvana) Times of Sumter, South Carolina, Dontel R. Times of Sumter, South Carolina, Tyrese R. Times of Fort Hood, Texas, Ferryn Gore of Sumter, South Carolina and Prince Isaiah Times of Leesburg, Florida; grandchildren, Josiah English, Knowledge Times, Rya’line Times, Rahmaire Times, Tyrell Smith, Tamari Smith and Josiah Bracey; mother, Eliza Times of Sumter, South Carolina; sisters, Janie B. Lincoln of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Gert Dunbar Cooper of Sumter, South Carolina, Bettie Lincoln-Franklin of West Palm Beach, Florida, Alfreda (Freddie) McLeod of Sumter, South Carolina, and Sarah Louise (James) McCray of Sumter, South Carolina; brothers, Thomas Wimberly of Sumter, South Carolina and Claude (Sharlene) Lincoln of West Palm Beach, Florida; aunt, Misbrey Times; Uncle, Alfonso Times; father-in-law, Thomas Smith; sisters-in-law, Shirley Smith, Ethel (DeWayne) Gleaton, Norma Williams all of Sumter, South Carolina, and Priscilla Brock of Trenton, New Jersey; brothers-in-law, John Lee Harvin, Leroy Harvin, David Smith, Carl Smith, John D. (Shern) Smith all of Sumter, South Carolina and George (Katina) Harvin of Cranberry, Pennsylvania and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
