Florentino “Barry” Wilson, 57, entered into eternal rest, Friday, November 8, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Barry was born in Poughkeepise, New York on November 8, 1962 to Elizabeth Sweat. Home-Going Celebration will be held Friday, November 15, 2019 at Bethesda Baptist Church, 4745-US Highway 15 South, Sumter, South Carolina at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Ronnie Smiling, Sr., Pastor and Eulogist. Interment, Church Cemetery. A public viewing will be held Thursday, November 14, 2019 in the Robert Scriven, Jr. Memorial Chapel of the Ephriam D. Stephens Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
He attended the public schools in Sumter County. “Barry”, as he was affectionately known by for many, was a joyous person and always wanted to see others happy. He approached life with energy and zest and was always very curious. When he was able to work, he loved landscaping. He would smile with pride after each landscaping job. He was thrilled with his work. Barry attended Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather.
He leaves to cherish his memory and will be greatly missed by his mother, Elizabeth Sweat; sisters, Rachelle Mack, Loretta (Clarence) Wells and Gloria Jean Hilton; grandmother, Beatrice Major; aunts and uncles, Dorothy Mack, Jenette Stewart, Janie Williams, Mauretta (Rev. David) Brown, Joretha Pressley, Lucinda Coakley, Sam Major, J.C. Pearson, Thomas Pearson, Cleary (Melissa) Pearson, Isaiah (Rev. Sonja) Pearson, Christopher (Rhonda) Pearson and a special friend, Nikki Lee along with nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
