Mr. George "Buddie" Summers, Jr., son of the late George Julius and Rever Henderson Summers, was born on June 20, 1952 in Branchville, South Carolina, Orangeburg County. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 24, 2021 after an extended illness at TRMC.
He joined Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church at an early age. He was a graduate of Lockett High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps for four years. Following the military, he received a degree in Auto Mechanics from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. He later became employed by Cox Wood Preserving Company.
George was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Debra Meynard on April 10, 1993. There were no children added to this union, but he loved his step children as his own.
He leaves to cherish his fond and beautiful memories: his loving wife, Mrs. Debra "Shuggie" Meynard Summers of Branchville, South Carolina; two step-children, Dana Meynard (Trevor Whitfield) of Smoaks, South Carolina and Damien Meynard of Al Wukair, Al Wakrah Qatar; one sister, Alvaree Summers of Orangeburg, South Carolina; two brothers, Raymond Summers of Elkridge, Maryland and Timothy (Oreatha) Summers of Jacksonville, Florida; a father-in-law, Frankie Lee Meynard, Brooklyn, New York; five sisters-in-law, Gladys Byrd Summers of Branchville, South Carolina, Francie Meanor, of Lakeridge, Virginia, Nakia (Carl) Henderson, of Middle River, Maryland, and Melody Meanor of Columbia, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Glenn (Alma) Meanor of Fairnum, Georgia and Jackie Meanor of Brooklyn, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
