Mr. Isaac Jacob Crosby, Sr., son of the late Willie and Idella Crosby was born on May 27, 1950 in Colleton County. He was called home on Monday, May 12, 2025. He attended Colleton County public schools. At an early age, he became a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Smoaks, South Carolina, where Pastor J.C. Sistrunk is the pastor.
He was employed with Harold Murdaugh for many years before becoming a self-employed carpenter. He then began working with Mr. Jenkins and his apartment complex in Varnville, South Carolina until his retirement.
He was united in holy matrimony to Barbara Jean Ross on August 30, 1975. To this union, two children were born. At a very early age he showed an interest in singing as he won his first talent show singing “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay”. He began his quartet singing career with the Trumpeteers.
He later became the lead singer of the Colleton Spiritualaires. Singing was his passion and he sang with his group, his church and his family whenever the opportunity was provided. Isaac truly enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed the last twelve years fishing, working together, joking around and watching football with his grandson Ivan Bostic, as they battled between the Cowboys and the Redskins.
He was preceded in death by his bonded father, Mr. Bosey Jamison and eight siblings, Blondell Bodison, Willie Crosby, Jr., Geroy Crosby, Vetaray Brothers, Bosey Jamison, Jr., Anneal Capers, Elizabeth Capers, and Claretha Buckner.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Crosby. One daughter; Tammy Bostic (Terry) of Smoaks, South Carolina, One son, Isaac Crosby, Jr. of the home, One bonded daughter Camille(Candy) Ellimac-Raheem(Walli) of Illinois, ten grandchildren, one great grandchild; Six siblings; Mary Oleen Ancrum, Evelyn C. Williams(Frank), Dorothy Jamison, all of Columbia, South Carolina, Hattie Gant and Sonia Inabinett(Marcus) both of Walterboro, South Carolina, Della Gibbs of Merrick, New York, one sister-in-law, Minnie Johnson of Bamberg, South Carolina, six brother in laws, Lenell Ross, Horace Ross, Donald Ross, Elonzo Ross all of Bamberg, South Carolina, Ronnie Ross, Curtis Ross (Carla) both of Denmark, South Carolina three aunts, Amelia Carter, Rebecca Buckley and Colleen Walker all of Philadelphia, PA. A friend, who was like a brother, Robert Warren of Hampton, South Carolina, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and his four-legged friend, Roscoe.
