Isaac Hiers

Isaac Hiers, Sr.  was born on September 28, 1945 to the late Emma and Joe Hiers in Smoaks, South Carolina. He transitioned into God's loving hands on January 7, 2021 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Home-Going Celebration will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 486 Johnsville Road,  Smoaks, South Carolina.  Reverend Jimmy Washington, Pastor and Eulogist.  Interment, Church Cemetery.  A public viewing will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Stephens-Maree-Tracy Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 

(THOSE ATTENDING THE FUNERAL SERVICE ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACIAL MASK, AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE ENFORCED.)

Isaac joined Bethel United Methodist Church at an early age. He married the love of his life, Linda, on December 23, 1967. God blessed their union with four beautiful children.

Isaac moved to New York City in 1974 with his beloved family. He joined Faith Tabernacle Church in Jamaica, New York. He worked at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Flushing, New York for over thirty-one years until he retired in 2013.

Isaac was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Joe Hiers; three grandchildren, Isaac Hiers, III, Kevin Hiers, and Jeffery Shelah Jermain, Jr.; five brothers, JC Hiers, Willie Linder, Jr., Joe Frank Hiers, Glenn Hiers, and  Booster Owens; one sister, Mary Francis Mosley.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of fifty-three years, Linda Hiers; his four children, Isaac Hiers, Jr.,(Madinah), Angela Lynette Hiers (Everton), Jeffery Jermaine Hiers, Lakesha Michelle Hiers (Arnold); ten grandchildren, Zsantanae Anasia Hiers, Myasia Brianna Madden, Karisma D'ashia Miles, Lashawn D'nae Hiers, Kamren Davon Christopher Harris, Ia'jae Dashanique Hiers, Jamila Johnson, Terrie Kristine Angel Hiers, Malachi Jaire Ludd, Zaniyah Monaye Hiers; one great granddaughter, Ja'dore Shaice Hiers; his sisters, Albertha Brown, Dorothy Jenkins, Carrie Simpson (James), Eartha McFadden, Dorothy Washington (Floyd), Mary Johnson (Vernon); two brothers-in-law, Reginald Gatling (Minnie) and Thomas Simmons (Yvonne); seven sisters-in-law, Patricia Stephens, Gwendolyn Simmons, Darlene Simmons, Idella Simmons, Louvenia Simmons, Juanita Gatling, Tracey Simpson (Matthew); one special nephew, Brian J. Gatling; one Goddaughter, Korea Joyner; three God grandchildren, Israel Joyner, Kayla Joyner, Serenity Joyner; two very special friends more like a brother and sister, William Darden and Verna Moore-Trappier and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.  Isaac was loved and respected by all and he will be sorely missed!
