Jacqueline Stokes Obituary

Jacqueline L. Stokes, daughter of the late Mr. James Stokes and Mrs. Olene B. Stokes, was born on February 9, 1978 in Colleton County. She departed this life on Friday, May 7, 2021 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.

She attended the Public Schools of Colleton County and was a 1997 graduate of Ruffin High School. She was a lifetime member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Junior and Intermediate Choir.

She was employed with Sunoco  Company for twelve years. She was also employed by Cook Enterprise.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Olene B. Stokes; grandparents, Mr. Walter Brown, Sr.,  Mr. & Mrs. Mayfield Stokes; two aunts and one uncle.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Ja'Nyah Harris and Bru'Nasia White of Walterboro, South Carolina; one sister, Rosemary (Richard) Neal, of Smoaks, South Carolina; one brother, Jason (Jennifer) Salley, Charleston, South Carolina; an adopted sister, Jamishia (Timothy) Williams of Orangeburg, South Carolina; grandmother, Mrs. Albertha Brown of Smoaks, South Carolina; God daughter, Nichelle Mosley of Smoaks, South Carolina; God father, Marvin Brown, Sr. of Branchville, South Carolina; six aunts, Joann Bostic, Bertty Williams, Margaret Brown, all of Smoaks, South Carolina, Beverly Blocker of Hinesville, Georgia, Maiera (Leroy) Turner of Walterboro, South Carolina, Angela Stokes of Bamberg, South Carolina and Cynthia Brown of Orangeburg, South Carolina; seven uncles, Joseph Stokes of Columbia, South Carolina, Marvin Brown, Sr. of Branchville, South Carolina, David (Barbara) Brown of Smoaks, South Carolina, Peter (Joyce) Brown of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Anthony (Kym) Brown of Charleston, South Carolina and Thomas L. Drain of Smoaks, South Carolina;  special friends, Bruce White, Heidi Coggins, Aldreshia Glover, Kamesha Hodges and Shantel Jones; one niece; five nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
