James Young, Jr.

Mr. James Young, Jr., 70, husband of Sadie White Young, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina.  Born in Sumter County, December 26, 1951, he was the son of the late James young, Sr. and Mary Robinson Young.

He attended the public schools of Sumter County. James worked for many years at Glasscock and Burgess-Brogdon Companies.

In his spare time he liked fishing. His passion was refurbishing cars, stripping and rebuilding them. He also enjoyed mowing lawns. Even with his many activities, he was and remained a devoted husband and father.

James leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving wife, Sadie White Young; two dedicated sons, Jamie (Temeka) Young and Michael (Kamisha) Young of Sumter; two sisters, Mary Ann Prothro and Sarah Crowder of Sumter; one brother and sister-in-law, Elijah (Lila) White along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
