A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, 12 NOON at Cedar Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 126 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Cedartown, GA, Reverend James Wright, Host Pastor, Reverend John Lampley, Eulogist. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022, 5:00-8:00 PM at the Donald Trimble Mortuary, 1876 Second Ave, Decatur, GA. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery, 71 Woodall Rd. Hwy 278, Cedartown, GA .
Born Zorious Rashad Murphy, Jeo’Vonnie Rashad was born on August 1, 1989, to Lillian Spurgeon Bohannon and Anthony Murphy. Affectionately called “Zori” by his family and simply “Jeo” by his friends received his formal education in the public schools of Bartow County, matriculating through the grade levels at Cartersville High School. While at Cartersville, he was an avid football and basketball player. In May of 2008, Zori graduated from Cedartown High School.
Later, after high school graduation, Zorious relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. He attended American InterContinental University and received his Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management General. Thereafter, he attended Columbia Southern University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Jeo’Vonnie believed in helping others and had loving heart for all. He was a tutor and mentor at Hands on Atlanta and was also a volunteer with AID Atlanta. Jeo was a hard worker and believed “before you can play hard, you must work hard. He was gainfully employed with several companies as a forklift operator and a truckdriver but was currently employed with JP HUNT.
Zorious was the life of any party. If he walked into a room, you were sure to have plenty of laughs and entertainment. He was an impeccable spades player and he enjoyed talking trash at the table. Zori loved his family and friends and loved spending time with everyone. He absolutely loved family time, holidays, singing, reading bible scriptures, and traveling. Jeo will be missed by all that knew him and especially his caring heart and that amazing smile.
Left to cherish his many memories, his daughters, Makiah Hays and Zamora Dueberry; his parents Lillian “Nikki” Spurgeon Bohannon and Anthony Murphy; siblings, Zell Morris, Zamorious Scrutchins and Zamea Scrutchins; grandparents, Robert Spurgeon, Gloria B. Holiday, Diann Murphy; two aunts, Ursula Spurgeon and Felicia “Lisa” Spurgeon Hendrix; three uncles, Roderick Turner, Marcus Turner, Antjuan Spurgeon; two nephews, Zell and Levi Morris; two nieces, Marleigh Bohannon and Lillian Paisen and host of other relatives and caring friends.
