Mr. Joseph Lee Drain known to many as “Joe Lee” or “Train”, the son of the late Joseph Marvick Drain and Gloria Drain was born on March 24, 1964, in Colleton County. On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, he entered into a peaceful state of rest at home with his loved ones by his side.
Joseph was formally educated in the public schools of Colleton County. He graduated from Ruffin High School in 1982. Train played football while in school. After graduating he pursued his passion as a concrete finisher. As a hobby, he enjoyed playing the drums, dancing, listening to music, making folks laugh and spending time with his family. He was always filled with joy. At an early age, he joined Greater Mt. Olive AME Church in Smoaks, SC. In May 2021, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Joe Lee was preceded in death by three brothers, Isaiah, Franklin, and David Mack; three aunts, Mary L. Stokes, Bennie Green, and Jessie Nell Cochran; and one nephew, Joseph D. Frazier.
Joseph leaves to cherish his fond memories, his beloved mother, Mrs. Gloria Morris Drain of the home; his beloved children, two daughters, Sharon Linder and Samantha Drain of Charlotte, North Carolina; one son, Joseph Antonio Drain of Smoaks, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Tameya Drain, Cayla Drain, Ty ’Mir Brayboy, and Caitlyn Drain; two sisters, Josie Drain and Rose Marie (Joseph) Frazier both of Smoaks, South Carolina; two aunts, Ida Haynes of Hampton, South Carolina and Jettaree (Jervy) Bingley of Branchville, South Carolina; one uncle, Reverend Henry (Roberta) Cochran of Orangeburg, South Carolina; a devoted friend of family and mother of his children Shirlene Linder; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
