Kenneth Johnson Obituary

Mr. Kenneth Johnson, son of the late Henry and late Edith Stokes Johnson was born October 4, 1942 in Colleton County and was a life-long resident of Smoaks, South Carolina.  When his health began to decline, he was transferred to Pruitt Healthcare of Walterboro, South Carolina where he peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday morning, March 1, 2021. 

Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 8, 2021 at John Brown Cemetery, Smoaks, South Carolina.  Bishop Floyd W. White, Eulogist.  A public viewing will be held Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Stephens-Maree-Tracy Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. 

(THOSE ATTENDING GRAVESIDE SERVICE ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACIAL MASK WITH SOCIAL DISTANCING.) 

Kenneth was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. 

He was a member of Lovely Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Smoaks, South Carolina, where he served on Choir No. Two and J.S. Utsey Male Chorus. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in the early years of his adult life. 

He was employed by John Strickland Farms of Smoaks, South Carolina.  He enjoyed sports and transported many young people and adults to local baseball games.

Kenneth was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Louretta Stephens and to this union 4 children were born. He was predeceased in death by; his parents, a son, Benjamin Stephens, siblings, Joe Johnson, O. B Johnson, son-in-law, Deondra Ferguson, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Christine Kelly, Patricia Stephens, Diane Stephens, Haveline Linder, Lizzy Lou George, Reatha Bell Davis, Eva Mae Stephens, Julius Stephens, William Henry Stephens, and Juanita Williams.

He will be lovingly remembered by, his loving wife, Louretta, his sons,

Mr. Kenny Johnson, Jr., Mr. Tyrone Johnson, Mr. Lamont Johnson, Smoaks, South Carolina, grandchildren, Keeda, Brianna, Raheem, Jordan, Davonte, Lil Kenny (Brea), Deanna, Drey, his great grands, a brother, Mr. Jackie (Lynn) Johnson, Bluefield, West Virginia, his sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law,

Mrs. Eartha (Oscar) Chisolm, Ms. Jeanette (Johnny) Smalls, Ms. Neatha Mae Stephens, Mr. Leon (Adlene) Stephens, Mr. Edward Willie (Vonetta) Stephens, Ms. Patricia Ann Gatling Stephens, one aunt, Mrs. Nancy Middleton, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
