Mr. Legree Bell, Jr. also known as “Butch” was born on September 20, 1952, in Charleston County, Charleston, South Carolina to the late Lagree, Sr. and Mazie Bell. “Butch,” as he was affectionately called, was educated in Orangeburg County public school system, Orangeburg, South Carolina.
He was employed at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina for twenty-five years and South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Center for five years.
Mr. Bell was adopted into the life of the late Mattie Mae Brown and her family in 1992.
He loved hot wings, chips, peanut butter cake and lemon pound cake. He loved singing and dancing. His favorite song was “I’ve Been Born Again.”
He was preceded in death by his adopted mother Mattie Mae Brown affectionately as Mom.
Mr. Bell leaves fond cherished memories, his sister, Mrs. Eula Jones of Bowman, South Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
