Larry Bradley 73, transitioned peacefully from this earthly life to eternal rest Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his residence 2070 Patton Drive, Sumter. He was born in Sumter County on October 1, 1948, to Walter and Sarah Harvin Bradley.
Larry was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. He spent twenty-five years working as a diesel mechanic at the Burgess and Brogdon Company of Sumter. He was also known to many as a gentleman who had many skills. He could build houses, was a car mechanic, and a skilled brick mason, as well. He was just a jack of all trades. In fact, many of his clients called him “Jack”.
Larry was truly an outdoors man. His favorite hobby was painting cars and telling jokes. He was a jubilant individual who loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Before he became ill, he particularly enjoyed breakfast time with his wife Maggie of 49 years of marriage.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Bradley and Walter Bradley, Jr.; three sisters, Julia Glover, Addie Glover, and Mary Ellen Bradley.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Maggie Nelson Bradley; three children, Bridget (Johnny) Jackson, Richard (Aneesha) Nelson, and Marquis (Mariah) Bradley; two sisters, Alma Bradley and Janie McKnight; Ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; sisters in law, and brothers in law, Jervine Pyatt, Mary Blackwell, Raymond Glover, George (Rebecca) Nelson, Alphonso (Mary) Nelson, and Herbert (Sarah) Nelson; and a host of cousins other relatives, and friends.
