Louis "Slim" Green

Louis Green, 81, was born on May 18, 1938 in Dorchester County to the late Laura Green Fogle and John Green. He entered into eternal rest on the morning of Friday, November 8, 2019 at his home in Smoaks, South Carolina.  Home-Going Celebration will be held Thursday, November 14 ,2019 at Beulah Baptist Church,1986 Beulah Road Smoaks, South Carolina at 12:00 noon, Reverend J.C. Sistrunk Pastor, and Reverend Sam Drain, Eulogist.  Interment, Green Cemetery.  A public viewing will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Stephens-Maree-Tracy Chapel of Serenity from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. 

 He was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. He was married to Bennie Lou Drain-Green.

Louis was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, cooking, and beach trips. He was a staple in the Smoaks community and he always lend a helping hand when needed. He was a father figure for all children.

  He was employed by W. H. Varn Farms for most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Green; his parents; two brothers, Leroy Green and Ernest Green; one sister, Elizabeth Green.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Bennie L. Green; eight children Louella (Willie) Linder of Harrisburg, PA, Janice (Mayfield) Brown of Smoaks, SC, Joe (Willamenia) Green of Smoaks, SC, Timothy (Teresa) Butler of Seattle, Washington, Jimmy Green of Hardeeville, SC, Sylvester (Darlene) Green of Smoaks, SC, Terry (Aresia) Green of Smoaks, SC, Brenda (James) Jordan of Smoaks, SC; thirty-two grandchildren, two of which was raised in the home, Christopher Linder and Shakera Green; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Green and Booker T. Green; two sisters, Rena (Johnny) Williams and Carrie (Thomas) Behling; one daughter-in-law, Rosella Green and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
