Today we celebrate the life of Maebell M. Hodges, who was born on January 20, 1943, to the late Charlie and Loree Hodges in Colleton County, South Carolina. She departed this life on December 16, 2025 at MUSC Health Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was the fourth child of six children.
She was employed in South Carolina most of her life, after returning back home. She joined Hickory Hill United Church at an early age and served in different capacities. She graduated from Ruffin High School with the class of 1960. On March 16, 1965, she was united in holy matrimony to the late William H. Morrow and from this union, one daughter was born, Victoria Morrow Canselo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Hodges, mother, Loree Hodges, two brothers, Charlie Hodges, Jr. and Robert Hodges.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories her daughter Victoria A. Morrow (Paul D.) Canselo; three granddaughters, Tatiana A. Canselo, Mia A. Canselo, and Nia B. Canselo; one great grandson, Sahmir D. Kerr, all of Jamaica, New York; two sisters, Mary Behling of Williams, South Carolina and Diane Washington of Ruffin, South Carolina; one brother, Robert Agnew Hodges of Walterboro, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Mary P. Morrow Walters (Ronald) and Annette Smart Hodges; a devoted and loving care-giver, Mickey Ryan of Lodge, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
