Maggie Lee Broughton

Mrs. Maggie Broughton was born in Cottageville, South Carolina on March 23, 1934 to the late James and Lillie Heyward. She entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2021 at Pruitt Healthcare of Walterboro, South Carolina.

Maggie was educated in Colleton County Public School System.

She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Macedonia United Methodist, where she served faithfully until her health failed.  She was a cook for most of her adult life at Hiers Restaurant in Walterboro, South Carolina. Cooking was her passion. She enjoyed cooking and serving others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lillie Heyward; her husband, James Broughton (JB); sisters, Rona and Anna; brothers, Thomas, Frank, George, and Marion.

Maggie left to cherish her memories, her children, Helen Moran (Jeff) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Juanita Damon (Larry) of Timmonsville, South Carolina, Christine Pollard (Greg) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Geneva Brown of Walterboro, South Carolina; Charles Campbell (Terrace) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Keith Broughton (Lesa) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Anthony Broughton (Sharon) of Summerville, South Carolina, Joyce Broughton and Theresa Broughton of Walterboro, South Carolina, Francis Washington of Greenpond, South Carolina one brother, James Heyward, Jr. of Aransas Pass, Texas and a host of grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins,  other relatives and friends.
