Mrs. Margaret Capers was the daughter of the late Wille James Wilson and Ada Estell Webster Wilson. She was born in Florence, South Carolina on February 22, 1955. Margaret departed this life on June 13, 2023, after an extended illness. She attended Darlington County schools and on May 28, 1976, she earned her high school diploma from Mayo High School in Darlington, South Carolina. With over thirty years of work experience in several restaurants and factories, she was noted for her twenty years of service at Gold Kist Inc. She received many awards & recognitions for good performance and attendance during her tenure at Gold Kist.
Margaret enjoyed thirty-seven years of marital bliss with Wayne Capers Sr. and their union was blessed with three children who loved her dearly. Margaret was a very faithful servant of Jehovah God for over forty-five years. She was baptized and saved at an early age. During her early years, she would spread the word of God to the people of Darlington and Florence, South Carolina. Later in life, she moved to Sumter, South Carolina with her husband Wayne. They joined Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in the late 1980s and she remained a very faithful member until her passing. Margaret always pledged to do the will of Jehovah God. She never lost her hope of living forever in a beautiful paradise on earth with peace and happiness where the former things have passed away. Margaret was affectionately known as a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. She was the sweetest and kindest person she could be and was a strong and caring woman. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie James Wilson and Ada Estell Webster Wilson; brothers, Louis Wilson and Raydell Wilson along with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Wayne Capers Sr.; son, Wayne Capers Jr.; daughters, Susan M. Capers and Sherry E. Capers all of Sumter, SC; her sisters, Willie Mae (Anthony) Hall, Rosa Mae (Edward) Williams, and Jeanette Isaac, all of Florence, SC, and Ada Jane Wilson of Darlington, SC; her brothers, Jerome (Myra) Wilson, and Isiah (Sheila) Wilson, all of Florence, SC and Joseph Wilson from Houston, TX. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives, friends, church family and neighbors.
