Margaret Jenkins Obituary

Margaret D. Jenkins,  86 years old, of Ruffin, South Carolina, known to her community as Granny, was born on September 27, 1939 to the late Edward Brunson and Martha White Brunson in Suffolk, Virginia. Our sweet and saintly mother answered the voice of God and transitioned from her earthly labor into eternal rest on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Agape Health Center in Summerville, South Carolina.

Mother Jenkins was a member of Hunters Chapel Baptist Church and attended there until her health failed. She was a member of the Eastern Star and served for over 20 years. 

She was a loving caring person and she would give you the shirt off her back. She was well known for her kindness and well loved by everyone.

Mother Jenkins was educated in the Suffolk County School System. She never stopped reading and writing. She loved her Crossword Puzzles and TV Shows. During her time of work, she baby sat many of Ruffin family’s children. She worked at the Chicken farm along side her grandchildren and children. Before coming to South Carolina, he lived in Parksley, Virginia with her Children.

Mother Margaret D. Jenkins was married to the late Theodore Jenkins, Sr. and together they were blessed with six children, Julius Jenkins, Floyd Lambert, Freddie Lambert, Jane Jenkins, Theodore Jenkins, Jr. and Edna Jenkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Jenkins, Sr.; son, Julius Jenkins; grandchild, Ty Teanna; great grandchild, Ashountey Jenkins; siblings, Louise Steward, Raleigh White, Edward Brunson, Jr., Paul Nixon, Dennis Brunson, and Aileen Parker.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, Floyd Lambert, Freddie Lambert, Jane Jenkins, Theodore Jenkins, Jr. (Teanna), and Edna Jenkins, her loving sisters, Melvine Brunson, Eunice Grant and Diane Brunson; one loving brother, Peter (Monica) Nixon; her thirty three grandchildren; fifty - one great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
