Mary Louise Sampson Fryar, affectionately known as Louise, was born December 9, 1933, daughter of the late Mr. Daniel Sampson and Mrs. Ethel Steward Sampson. She entered eternal rest September 6, 2022.
She attended Colleton County public schools and graduated from Ruffin High School in 1969. She married the late Mr. Cleo Fryar on October 6, 1950, and remained until his death November 24, 1999. At an early age she attended Sykes Savannah No. 2 United Methodist Church, later named Red Root United Methodist Church, Ruffin, South Carolina. She served as the church and finance committee secretary for many years.
Louise was a very loving and giving person. Her passion was fishing, cooking, and watching the Atlanta Braves. She loved the Lord and gave herself to him years ago. She was the mother of the church. Her international travels took her to Germany, Austria, Italy, Paul’s missionary journey, Rome, French Riviera, Greece, Israel – tomb of Jesus, and Turkey.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Corine Fryar and two brothers, JW and JC Sampson.
Louise leaves to cherish her memories seven children: Sadie (Victor) Burt of Jacksonville, FL, Elizabeth Glover of Summerville, SC, Blytha (Joe) Sanders, Roy (Susan) Fryar both of Ruffin, SC, Marilyn Fryar of Jacksonville, FL, William Aaron Fryar and Cleo Patricia Fryar both of Ruffin, SC; Four sisters, Aimee (Johnnie) Green, Ozene (Harvey) Fryar both of Ruffin, SC and Martha Johnson of Mt. Dora, FL; fifteen grandchildren (three reared in the home, Andrea, Amante’ and Ashleigh Fryar); twenty-nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ruthie Jamison of Islandton, SC and Marie Sampson of Smoaks, SC; her bonus son, Larry Jackson and her devoted fishing partners: Gaffernell Hayes, Katherine Breland, and Marie Sampson, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
