Mary "Coot" Stephens

Mary Stephens was born on April 29, 1967, to Charlie Drain and Mildred Stokes in Colleton County. Her step-father, was Charlie Stokes and step- mother , Dorothy Stokes. She entered into eternal rest on January 13, 2025, at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Mary attended the Colleton County Public School System, Ruffin High School in Ruffin, South Carolina. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Smoaks, South Carolina. Mary was joined in Holy Matrimony to Jerry Stephens.

Mary was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Drain and Mildred Stokes.

Mary leaves to cherish her fond memories her children, Jerry and Tyshawn Stephens of Smoaks, South Carolina; three grandchildren, one great grandchild; her stepparents, Charlie Stokes and Dorothy Stokes; one sister, Shellie Trotman; two brothers, Charlie Stokes, Jr. and Jerome Stokes both of Smoaks, South Carolina; a special friend, Thomas Singleton of Walterboro, South Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.
