Mia Denise Tabb, 27, the youngest of five children was born on October 4, 1995, at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Richard S. Tabb and the late Megee A. Broughton. Mia traded in her earthly home for eternal rest in the early hours of Wednesday morning, August 16, 2023.
At a very early age Mia proved to be a very loving, outgoing, and brave young child. She enjoyed singing and dancing. A true performer at heart.
Mia attended the public schools of both Colleton and Charleston counties. She, along with her twin sisters, received her diploma from Colleton County Adult Education in June 2018.
While being reared by her “Aunt Kay” in Hollywood, South Carolina, she attended St. Mark AME Church. There she and her sisters were members of a praise dance group. Mia entertained the congregation not only through her dance but with her many melodious hymns. She was an inspiration to the young and the old.
Mia worked as a bartender at Ruby’s Tuesday in Walterboro, South Carolina for several years. Again, she took the stage and entertained as well as served her many patrons. Many well-known customers often expressed their joy while in her presence.
In her adult life, Mia gave birth to her two sons, Malachi and Memphis. Her sons changed her life. They became her joy and inspiration. Even though her time spent with them ended much too soon, she expressed the joy they brought her each and every day.
Preceding Mia in death were her mother, Megee A. Broughton; her maternal grandmother, Venetha Broughton; her paternal grandparents, Carrie and Richard Tabb, Sr.; First cousin, Austen Mole, and Aunt, Loretta Tabb-Walker.
