Michael Deleon Griffith

Michael Deleon Griffith was born on August 27, 1959, to the late Thatch and Mattie Bell Griffith in Athens, Alabama. He entered eternal rest on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama surrounded by his loving family, he entered eternal rest. 

He fellowshipped with the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board, worked with the Youth Choir, and the Food Committee, He was a prayer warrior for Multi Community, and Truth for Deliverance Ministries.

He received his education from Tanner High School in Tanner, Alabama.  Michael, also known as “Suitcase” on the CB, was a professional truck driver for many years for US Express, Burlington Motor Carrier, and Elliot Sawmill. He also was a farm hand at heart. He retired in 2013. 

Michael entered holy matrimony to Ann White on May 22, 1992. To this union, they were able to rear six children. 

He will always be remembered for having a true servant heart; ready to render service to those who were in need.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ruth Williams.

He leaves to cherish fond memories a loving wife of 30 years, Ann White Griffith; six children, Michael Antonias (Chantae) Griffith of Huntsville, Alabama, Kezia Fennell of Varnville, South Carolina, Raymond (Aiysha) Williams of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Ta-Tanisha Williams of Hampton, South Carolina, Shawanna Williams of Varnville, South Carolina, A’knottrea (Robert) Williams of Summerville, South Carolina; 26 grand-children, 12 great-grand-children; three sisters Edwena (Robert) Steele, Brenda Steel and Marsha Malone of Athens, Alabama; Three brothers, George Griffith, William Griffith, and Tony Allen of Athens, Alabama; four aunts;  Mother-in-law,  Emma Wright of Hampton, South Carolina; two sisters-in law, Halimah (Hasan) Muwakkil of Avenel, New Jersey, and  Deloris Capers of Hampton, South Carolina; Brother-in law, John (Connie) White; Spiritual Mother, Apostle Ruby Martin, , and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.
