Minister Charles David Smith, Jr. was born on January 21, 1947, to the late Charles David Smith, Sr. and Geneva Smith in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He received his heavenly wings on February 15, 2022, at his home.
Minister Smith answered the call of the Lord to preach the gospel in 1996. He joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1991 where he was a faithful and dedicated member until his health failed. His favorite song was “I Won’t Complain” and he did not complain.
He was a 1965 high school graduate and a 1970 college graduate of Killeen,Texas.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Chellie Smith on May 17, 1982. To this union, four children were born.
Minister Smith is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathryn Smith.
His memories will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Chellie Smith; three daughters, Tammy Legree (Jay Roche’), Lashall Davis and Nakia Smith; one Son, Jerry Peavy; 21 Grandchildren; 18 Great- Grandchildren; three sisters, Julia (Clarence) Price, Gladys (John) Nealous and Cynthya’ Frye; three brothers, Harry Dale Smith, Dennis Smith and Vernon Smith (Yolanda); four sisters-in-law, Bernice Bennett, Patricia (Leonard) Simmons; Ella Balderas and Ann Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Deloris) Jackson, James (Cassandra) Peavy; one Uncle, Lucious (Maxie) Fleming; his best friend, Larry Pope and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
