Life Story:
Willie Mae Capers Reames affectionately known as “Mooch” was born May 14, 1922, to the late James Capers Sr. and Viola Peterson Capers Thomas. She departed this earthly life on Monday March 23, 2026.
Willie Mae “Mooch” attended the public schools in Lee County. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Willie Mae “Mooch” accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. Later in life she joined the New Zion AME Church in Wisacky, South Carolina.
She was formally united in marriage with the late Britton Reames Sr. and to this union eight children were born.
Memories are never lost:
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Britton Sr.; her father, James Capers; her mother, Viola Peterson Capers Thomas; her stepfather, Luscious Thomas; brothers, Eddie Capers, Roosevelt Capers, James Capers Jr., Joesph Capers, William Hodges, and Roosevelt Hodges; sister, Ruthie Mae Croskey; a brother, Jessie Givens; Children, Britton (June) Reames Jr., Joseph (Bud) Reames, Naomi Aaron and Betty Reames Fortune; Grandchildren, Tabitha Aaron and Tony Reames; Great Grand Children, Khadeja Legrant, Edward Johnson Jr., Shakimbra Reames and Cherananko Reames.
Those we love are never more than a memory away:
Willie Mae “Mooch” leaves to cherish her precious memories her children; James Reames (Mattie), Loraine Aaron, Hosea Pearson (Carrie), Evelyn Reames (Levi), and Carolyn Reames all of Bishopville South Carolina; children reared in the home, John Reames, Willie Reames, Vivian Johnson, Millie Ann Dixon, Lonnie Reames, LaShawn Reames, Valerie Moore, Davon Moore, Traves Reames and Mya Kingston; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, eleven great great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Flossie Hodges, caregivers, Mary McDonald, Sharon Brunson, Everne Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
