Mr. Buster Brown

Mr. Buster Brown, affectionately known by many throughout the Sumter community, departed this life on June 4, 2026, at the age of 90.  

Born on June 19, 1935, in Sumter, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Harvey Brown and Eliza Mills Brown. Buster was a familiar face to many, having worked faithfully for many years at Hanna’s Grill, where he built lasting friendships and became a cherished member of the community.

A man of faith, Buster attended Saint Mark United Methodist Church. He lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a genuine love for family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Lucille Yates; his brother, Melvin Brown; nephews, Larry Ross, Walter Wright, Michael Wright, and Antonio Wright; nieces, Carrie Majette, Sarah Wright, and Pamela Smith; one great-nephew, David McWilliams; and two great-nieces, Ziasia Williams and Ladayishia Williams, along with a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure his memory.

Mr. Brown will be remembered for his warm spirit, his dedication to his work, and the impact he made on all who knew him. Though he has departed from this earthly life, his legacy of perseverance, faith, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
