Ms. Gloria D. Williams Terry, daughter of the late James Jerry Williams and Betty Lee Black Williams was born on October 10, 1954, in Colleton County. She entered into eternal rest on December 17, 2023, at her residence in Round O, South Carolina.
Gloria was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. After High School, she furthered her education and graduated with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Argosy University. She worked at numerous sewing factories over the years until she decided to obtain her CDL and drive a school bus for Colleton County. She also worked for the SC Department of Corrections for over twenty years until she decided to retire. She stayed home only for a few months until she decided to go back to work and drive school bus again for Colleton County until her health declined and had to quit. She was a member of the Spiritual Vibrations of Smoaks, South Carolina where she sang with her sisters.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Robert L. Terry, Sr. and to this union, three children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jerry Williams and Betty Lee Black Williams; aunt, Evangelist Maybell Black; uncle, Truman Black; brother-in-law, Sylvester Simmons; sister-in-law, Katie Allen; Mother-in-law, Jessie L. Terry; father-in-law, Samuel Terry, Sr. and a host of cousins and other family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Aundre Terry of North Charleston; sons, Robert Terry, Jr. of the home and Jason Terry of Rincon, Georgia; five grandchildren, DaQuan Brown, Maleeah Terry, Kavon Terry, Kevin Terry, and Jalenie Terry; three great-grands, Ariyah Micah and Bryson; five sisters, Ella Crosby (Larry), Donnie Belton (James), Denise Jones (Michael), Joyce Simmons and Brenda Williams; brother-in-law, Heaver Folk; sisters-in-law, Lula Broughton (Howard), Annie Lee Akins (Edgar (EJ) Rosa Lee Ruggiero (John); brothers-in-law, Bill Terry (Priscilla), Jeff Terry(Maria ), and Leroy Terry; two aunts, Rosa Lee Butler of Redtop, South Carolina and Ethel Aiken of Newport New, Virginia, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
